This Autumn, Dairy Art Centre will present a major exhibition by Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara. Comprising a large body of recent works, the exhibition will include large-scale paintings and bronze sculptures, as well as a retrospective of the artist's drawings. Nara has become internationally recognised for his cartoon-like images of children and animals sporting adult expressions, provocative stances and vulgar gestures.
His visual vocabulary is steeped in popular culture - mass produced toys, television, pop music, Disney, computer games, manga and anime are all points of reference for his work.
