About
What kind of spaces help children become successful learners, enthusiastic contributors and confident individuals? Can good design improve the learning experience in schools? This exhibition, formed from a series of workshops carried out with leading Scottish architects and designers, teachers and students from five Scottish local authorities, explores the impact of design on learning and peeks into the learning spaces of the future.
The Senses of Place Programme was commissioned by the Schools Division at the Scottish Government as part of their 'Building Excellence Programme', formed in response to the Scottish Government's 'Curriculum for Excellence'. The Local Authorities involved in the project are Argyll & Bute, North Lanarkshire, Orkney Islands, Stirling, and West Lothian working alongside the architects and designers: 3DReid, DEGW, Gareth Hoskins Architects, JM Architects and Sam Booth, and Lisa MacKenzie.
