About

Join David Buckman (author of Bow to Biennale), Alan & Janeta Waltham (relatives), Michael Regan (curator) & Rosamond Murdoch (Nunnery Gallery director) to discuss the life and works of the East London Group of Artists. Mentored by Walter Sickert & John Cooper, the East London Group flourished in 1920's & 30's, recording East London through painting & drawing. Exploring the transformation of a group of working class east end painters, firemen and basket weavers into a group of world renowned artists, this is a fascinating and rare opportunity to see these paintings gathered once more in the East End of London. Featuring original works by : John Cooper, Walter Sickert, Harold & Walter Steggles, Henry Silk, Phyllis Bray, Elwin Hawthorne, Grace Oscroft, Cecil Osborne, George Board and Albert Turpin.
