About
With a deserved reputation as one of the most progressive figures working in photography today, Garry Fabian Miller has made exclusively 'cameraless' photographs since the mid 1980s.His methods look back to the early pioneers of photography in the 1830's, passing light through objects and filters of oil or coloured water onto photo-sensitive paper.
Optically mesmerising, his work is essentially abstract but there is a certain familiarity about them. This solo exhibition at Newlyn presents a selection of new works from his recently produced series Year One - for which he worked in the darkroom of his studio producing a new series of works each month for a year, from October 2005 to September 2006.
