Farm Shop is an exhibition conceived and curated by artist, Paul Emmanuel. First shown in Paul’s studio space, a large agricultural building in the Brecon Beacons of South Wales, Farm Shop is both a conceptual and a physical space where ideas about the cultured activity of ‘art’ and the rural activities of farming and rural productivity come together. The five artists included in the show all explore ideas of materiality ‘a common approach to physical stuff, its inherent references and its conceptual malleability’* although the form and expression of their work are varied.

The works – now installed in the formal setting of an art gallery – will inevitably take on new ideas and contexts, but continue to ask questions about the artist in relationship to the rural environment.
