About

The visual languages of popular web platforms, tools and technologies are having a profound effect on new generations of contemporary artists and audiences. To coincide with United We/I Stand Etc., IMT Gallery are hosting a discussion on the influence and use of image-based web technologies on creative practice. The panel will include Steven Ball, Rachel Falconer and Morgan Quaintance, and be chaired by Mark Jackson, the curator at IMT Gallery.

Working in time-based media, his current practice is engaged with landscape and spatial representation, in local and global, social, political and post-colonial spheres. He also writes about contemporary and historical moving image related practice. Since 2003 he has been Research fellow at Central Saint Martins and was instrumental in developing the British Artists' Film and Video Study Collection.

Rachel Falconer is a curator, writer and producer working at the intersections of technology, the media and contemporary art. She currently holds the position of Head of Art and Technology at SPACE and runs the art and technology programme at The White Building and SPACE MediaLab. She is Co-Editor at Furtherfield Gallery and a founding member of the collective Hardcore Software.

Morgan Quaintance is a London based writer, musician and curator.
