About

On Saturday 8th February join us for an exhibition of local scenes from a trio of brilliant local artists, Peter Brook, Tony Haigh and Jeff Beaumont. Famed local artist Peter Brook spent most of his life living and painting in Brighouse and his typical snowy scenes are the epitome of a Yorkshire Winter. We will be displaying a wide range of open edition prints, limited edition, rare signed prints along with one or two original paintings. Artist Tony Haigh was fascinated by the old textile mills of Huddersfield, the Colne Valley and Halifax. He decided to capture in drawings and paintings as many as he could before they were demolished or converted to other uses. He also enjoyed painting and drawing many of the old churches and chapels of the area and regularly held exhibitions of his work at local galleries and museums. He was a member of the Brighouse Art Society for many years and also a regular contributor at other art clubs across West Yorkshire. We will be exhibiting 14 of Tony's great original local scenes as part of the exhibition. Holmfirth based watercolourist Jeff Beaumonts work is based in the area both in the valley and up on the hills and moors which form the eastern edge of the Pennines. His paintings are always striking, always command attention and reflect the affection of the artist. ‘I am fascinated by the sky and cloud formations, the light and shade they produce. No day is ever the same'. His work is sought by collectors both in the UK and overseas. This unique collaboration is a must for local art lovers, the contrast of artists, styles and medium ensures there is something for everyone. Free Entry
