About

ARTICULATION: Talks and Events by Contemporary Artists at The University of Northampton. Directed and chaired by John Harper, Associate Visiting Fellow in Fine Art at The University of Northamptonshire, in partnership with NN Contemporary Art Northampton. HANNAH STARKEY Thursday 23rd January 2014 6.30-8pm Avenue Campus room MR57 Represented by both Saatchi and The Maureen Paley Gallery, Hannah Starkey is one of Britain's most highly regarded photo-artists. Using actors within carefully considered settings, her photographs reconstruct scenes from everyday life with the concentrated stylisation of film. Starkey's work presents a platform where fiction and reality are blurred, illustrating the gap between personal fragility and social convention, merging fabricated experiences with our own reality. Each talk is 90 minutes, including a chaired Q&A session. The talks are free to University of Northampton staff and students, £4 / £2.50 concessions to others. To book a place, please contact Suzanne Stenning — tel. 01604 893050 or email suzanne.stenning@northampton.ac.uk.
