About

Announcing the fourth of our core skills events. This three hour workshop is an informative, practical introduction to the proper use of traditional woodwork hand-tools. This will cover a variety of workmanship for example how to sharpen your chisel, how to use a marking gauge, a plane and a variety of saws. Proper usage of tools will include the following: carpenter square, chisels, planes, mallets, marking gauge, combination square , sliding bevel, hand drill, tennon saw, gentleman's saw and a coping saw. It is essential to wear old clothes and strong footwear. Safe workshop practice will be covered. Basic materials are included. Course cost: £20 Course date: Wednesday 5th March 2014 Course times: 10am — 1pm Number of places available: 10 Tutor: Terry Jones (Artist, Former Chief Technician of The Slade workshop and Maker extraordinaire)
