About
Led by the Godfather of English folk music, Martin Carthy (vocals, guitar, mandolin), along with John Kirkpatrick (vocals, accordion, concertina), Brass Monkey pioneered the use of brass instruments in folk music in the 1980's. Recently reformed, despite the death in 2005 of original trumpet player Howard Evans, the band are continuing as a quartet with remaining members Martin Brinsford(sax, harmonica) and Roger Williams (bass trombone, tuba, euphonium).
