CHART gallery presents ‘WE ARE HERE', a group print show running from 21st November to December 1st 2013 featuring nine emerging and established artists investigating the many possibilities of the print making process. Slade graduate Darren Coffield's prints are a continuation of his painting practice dealing with personality and perception. His politically charged images of iconic personalites include Princess Diana, Margaret Thatcher and Arthur Scargill Slade graduate David Ferry's unique prints retain a sense of 'naughtiness' with a gentle lampooning of British culture, reminding us that art can be entertaining too. RCA graduate Richard Galloway's detailed linocuts communicate dark narratives of the saints and the sinners in London life. Albert Irvin's (RA, OBE), bold screenprints collaboratively produced with Advanced Graphics display his characteristic traits as an artist. Jack Milroy's archival inkjet prints maintain a surrealist interest in the art of transformation, sabotage and chance. ”¨ Brendan Neiland, (R.A.), painter and printmaker, creates memorable images of modern metropolitan existence. Edd Pearman's (R.C.A.) screenprints have been published in The Guardian, The Independent and The Times and feature in collections around the world including the V & A, and the Chapman Brothers family archive. Sarah Simmonds, (R.C.A.) screenprints ‘Template For A Strike' series set historical images of political demonstrations into beautifully rendered tempates of hosehold objects. Jane Ward's (R.C.A.) unique monographs explore our perception of the world, and what constitutes reality and the imaginary, the utopian and the dystopian. CHART gallery is a new contemporary art space housed in a nineteenth century stable. The raw space complete with large double doors, cobbled floors and cast iron pillars is a rare sight in an area rife with development and basement conversions.
