About
Invisible realities are the secret navigators of our lives. We are born into a world that resonates far beyond the capacity of our physical senses to register more than a tiny fraction of reality.
Our eyes falter at the surface of a form, unable to penetrate the life breathing beneath its skin. Our ears record only a narrow band of sound, oblivious to the secret symphony of the world. We taste, touch and smell only a fraction of what comes easily to the creatures over which we hold dominion.
An owl penetrates the semi-darkness, watching a water vole preen its whiskers, a hundred yards away; a beagle follows the scent of a fox left two days before; a shark tastes a drop of blood in an ocean of water; a bat flies towards the heartbeat of a cow grazing in a distant field; a caterpillar paints a perfect picture from the touch of its hairs as it crawls across a leaf.
But our human senses register very little of this world.
And there is another world, an echo world, an intangible reality, a world without form or physical sensation, a world of hopes, dreams, fears, beliefs and aspirations, a world of stories that guide us through the future, a world of ghosts that nail us to the past, a world of invisible realities that is the mother and father of our lives and has more influence on what we do and become than anything we can see, hear, touch, taste or smell.
Welcome to my world of invisible realities; the stories, dreams and experiences that have seeped into my flesh.
Look through the windows, open the doors, close your eyes and step inside, but remember that images can't always be trusted. Not all roads lead to where the signposts bid you go.
Some destinations no longer exist, some constantly change their names, some names may be written by men who lie.
Images, words and sounds are the signposts of any journey.
Trust them as you would a fork in the road.
