The Most Beautiful Silence Never Heard

About

The Most Beautiful Silence Never Heard sees two of Brighton's most prominent artists come together for a unique site-specific exhibition that aims to fortify the natural and unnatural misgivings of the agitated mind. The experience of this immersive installation intends to expose a private disorder that's foundations lie in the sometimes subtle, sometimes overbearing, inquietude of the human psyche. I-Lib and Jim McElvaney have been working together for almost 12 months in and around Brighton. With the majority of their collaborative work compromising an incredibly innovative take on street art, this new venture will publically illuminate the partnership as a cohesive creative unit. With I-Lib's explorations into ancient symbolic ritual and occultism, alongside McElvaney's emotive portraiture and expressive mark-making, these two distinct yet comparable artists showcase a body of work that will see the duo collaborate on and off site. In addition to works produced together, the exhibition will present carefully selected individual pieces that compose a united vision of the intricacies of psychological flux. Viewers are invited to endure a space of unsolicited originality and apprehend its perturbed qualities via the display of paintings, sculpture, mixed-media projects and found objects. Thus, the disconcerting abilities and accidental nature of the artistic mind is celebrated; pulled together via a surprising collaboration that will unsettle the disposition of even the most apathetic of critics.
