About

Under My Skin cuts across art and science to get to the heart of our experience and expectations of surgery. It opens a closed and clinical world to a wider public view. Drawing on Bharata Natyam technique and contemporary choreography, three highly-skilled performers invite the audience to share a rare insight into the unseen practices of the operating theatre where intricate detail, perfect timing and precisely controlled exchanges are as important as they are in dance. This new piece is choreographed by Sadhana's artistic director Subathra Subramaniam, working hand in hand with Roger Kneebone (former trauma surgeon, now Professor of Surgical Education at Imperial College London) and her regular collaborators the composers and visual artists Kathy Hinde and Matthew Olden, and lighting designer Aideen Malone.
