About

A specialist course offering hands on experience with photo etching plates. The technique relies on acid to bite a zinc plate coated in photo sensitive emulsion, as half tone dots, which may further be combined with traditional hard and soft ground etching. The course focuses on a combination of digital software and traditional etching.à‚  You will be guided through Adobe Photoshop software, to output as digital positives and is therefore ideal for photographs and scanned-in hand drawn images. This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some previous experience. All materials will be provided. The studio is a low toxic environment and the course will teach students to handle solvents and oil based inks safelyà‚  After completion of a Photopolmer course, attendees will have gained sufficient skills to book onto Open Access.
