In a radical departure from his figurative work of recent years, Felix presents”¨MY LONDON, a brand-new body of abstract paintings.à‚  The initial impulse for MY LONDON came from a reaction to nature as it exploded into form and colour after the long wet spring this year. That impulse was followed closely by the insight that no figurative treatment of the subject would come close to capturing any of that sensation but that reduction and concentration on pure colour-form might stand a chance of communicating to others some of the visual excitement and exhiliration the artist felt on his walks in the parks of southeast London.à‚  Once some basic units of form were devised and colour palettes defined, one development led to the next and the result is an ongoing series of highly idiosyncratic, pure abstract paintings devoid of any reference to nature but hopefully capable of evoking in the viewer a unique visual experience at once familiar and unprecedented.
