A theatre performance on the relationship between Paul Celan and Ingeborg Bachmann

About

In this spoken word performance, letters written between poets Paul Celan and Ingeborg Bachmann in the shadow of Auschwitz reflect the horror and disorientation of the world after the Holocaust. Set in an urgent, vibrant post war cultural landscape, their love affair was a rich, troubled meeting of poetic imaginations. Actors will read the letters, interwoven with sound and video, followed by a short talk about the writing and the lasting influence of Bachmann's and Celan's work.
