This will be the first UK solo exhibition for Dana Schutz, one of America's most acclaimed young, contemporary painters. A significant proportion of new paintings and drawings will feature in the display of large scale canvases that build on her highly personal and memorable painterly explorations.
Renowned for her characteristically vibrant colored figurative paintings and tactile brushwork, Schutz creates imaginary worlds to explore hypothetical and absurd situations. Schutz' latest cast of odd characters and grotesque creatures assume the role of performers, confronting the viewer as they are captured during intimate moments or large-scale productions.
