Ministry of Measurement

A study of institutional data consumption and the subjectivity of measurement combined with references to 60's brutalist architecture. The 'Ministry of Measurement' is manned by efficient, polite but robot-like staff who solicit members of the public to go out into the Barbican complex and collect measurement data which is duly stamped, officiated and fed into a machine on their return. Throughout the two week duration of the piece the Ministry of Measurement will evolve both visual and sonically as more physical and aural measurements are added to the work. The Ministry will function like a real institution, with it's own logo, uniforms, official paper and website.
