New paintings by Maggie Banks and Richard Bavin

About

Maggie Banks and Richard Bavin are Herefordshire-based artists, well-known for their paintings of trees. So, they decided to decamp to the Brecon Beacons where they have been exploring, for them, totally new territory. Throughout the recent winter, spring and early summer, they worked in the Brecon Beacons National Park (having the appropriate permission to put up their tents) through the coldest, wettest and generally unpleasant weather the hills could throw at them. The results are a dramatic and stunning combination of watercolour, oil and mixed media paintings reflecting the Beacons in their many moods. We are very proud to be the first venue to show the results of this collaborative project. Maggie and Richard will be in the Gallery on Saturday 17th August, 10am to 3pm, to talk about their work and show people round the exhibition. A selection of work can also be seen at Castle House Hotel in Hereford. A garden exhibition of sculpture by Sally Grant from the Forest of Dean will accompany this exhibition.
