About
Contemporary British artist Jason Hicklin will make a welcome return to the Granary Art Gallery for a selling exhibition of his latest works throughout November.Jason௿½s work consists of primarily of etchings and drawings of landscapes, with his usual style being a response to the extremes of nature and its effects on the landscape around him ௿½ often in the coastal extremities of the British Isles.
His most recent works, though, have been more gentle landscapes and man௿½s intervention within them.
Commissioned by the Ellesmere Sculpture Initiative, Hicklin has recently created a series of canal etchings aiming to raise the public௿½s awareness of the landscape of the Shropshire Canal and the World Heritage Site at Pontcysyllte. The canal etchings are part of his touring exhibition, which also seek to raise the profile of the inland waterway network both regionally and nationally. The exhibition will also include a short animated film based.
Jason studied at Central St Martin௿½s College of Art and is now an elected Member of the Royal Society of Printmakers.
He has exhibited widely across the UK and has works in major private and overseas collections.
