About

The Walking Reading Group offers a chance to discuss the issues surrounding participation, collaboration, pedagogy and emancipation through a dynamic walking reading group. For the re-projecting (london) session, texts related to Basbaum's practice are set in advance and form the backbone of the exchange. We depart from The Showroom and walk for two hours around Basbaum's diagram, swapping conversations and partners several times. The selected texts and the applied dynamic methodology is an attempt to view beyond the binary logic of participatory practices, which often oppose participation to exclusion, nature to culture, thus subject to object. This reading group will be dedicated to discussion of texts by Ricardo Basbaum, Paulo Freire, Pablo Lafuente and Jacques Rancière and exploration of questions of participation, collaboration, pedagogy and emancipation.
