About

Ministry of Love is a collaborative project between artists Irene Fuga and Emma Löfström. A laboratory in which the artists use drawing as a method of investigating human behaviour and contemporary culture in relation to the Internet and social media. Fuga and Löfström's work focuses on the re-evaluation of the physical sphere versus the virtual. With a particular interest in the antagonism between private and public, freedom and surveillance, and the endless opportunities of creating alternative identities, the artists play with ideas of how the 21st century human mind may be adapting in unprecedented ways. Through drawing, sound and installation, Ministry of Love explores feeling, human relationships, and sensorial experience in a time when physical encounters are filtered by online communication and social networks are impacting on human connections and relationships. The artists will let the gallery function as an open-studio, to invite the public to witness the intimacy of the drawing process, and public workshops will take place throughout the show.
