About

Gertrude Jekyll was one of the most influential garden designers of all time, whose impact on the art of gardening is still evident around the world today. In all Jekyll designed over 400 gardens, many in partnership with the eminent architect Edwin Lutyens. This exhibition will explore the long and extraordinary life of Jekyll (1843 — 1932) who lived and worked in Surrey, delving into her passions and exploring her multitalents as a musician, composer, political activist, interior and applied arts designer, artist, embroiderer, silversmith, botanist, herbalist and garden designer.
