Celebrate Midsummer Eve and help bring forest artwork to life

About

In 1999 Polish artist Lukasz Skapski and local people planted an avenue of 200 yew trees in the heart of King's Wood. Located on a high point of the North Downs, Via Lucem Continens (Avenue Containing Light) is designed to frame the setting sun on Midsummer's Eve. Stour Valley Arts organises a picnic every Midsummer's Eve in the yew tree avenue - if you would like to be part of this free event, bring a picnic, rug, family and friends and meet at 7pm at the MAIN KING'S WOOD CAR PARK on White Hill, Challock. Stour Valley Arts will lead a walk through the woods to the picnic site, which will take about half an hour. Wear suitable footwear, warm clothing and bring a torch for the return journey - the event will end at approx 10pm so it will be dark!
