An exhibition curated by Nickova Behling and Michael Corlett presenting the work of four artists who facilitate creative opportunities for people coping with a range of difficulties including learning and mental health.

About

STEAM is a project which will culminate in an exhibition at the James Hockey & Foyer Galleries, University of Creative Arts Farnham, from 8 July to 10 August 2013. Devised and planned by artists Nickova Behling and Michael Corlett, STEAM will explore the role and work of artists who facilitate creative opportunities for people coping with a range of difficulties including learning and mental health. STEAM focuses on the reciprocal influence between facilitating work and personal practice: how we influence the creativity of those who attend our workshops and how they influence ours. The project also aims to promote inclusive approaches to engaging people with difficulties and disabilities in the visual arts. The exhibition will include work by four artist-facilitators as well as by participants. An accompanying seminar and practical workshops will be open to the general public.
