A Spot of Red

About

Crimson, scarlet, vermillion. Red has many names. Blood, lipstick, earth, mars. Red has many meanings. Of all the primary colours, red is perhaps the most powerful, disturbing and divisive. Every artist knows the emotive potential of red to evoke a visceral reaction in the viewer. But is this the only use for red? Or can it have other meanings, other possibilities? In this show, 24 London-based artists with cultural roots around the world offer a thought-provoking selection of work, all of which feature a spot (or more) of red. Join us for an exciting exploration of this vital colour.
