PRINT CLUB X BOB GILL EXHIBITION - 6 NEW HAND COLOURED SCREEN PRINTS
Opens 6pm Thursday 28th March 2013
Print Club Gallery
10-28 Millers Avenue
Dalston
E8 2DS
We have been huge fans of Bob Gill and we were so excited when he agreed to work with us in producing some new prints. Bob joined us at Print Club where he hand finished his screen prints with watercolour and pen, making each one completely original and unique.
After freelancing as designer/illustrator/teacher in New York, Gill emigrated to London on a whim and stayed 15 years. There, he founded Fletcher/Forbes/Gill later renamed Pentagram and he went on to be a co-founder of DandAD. Gill’s work has been exhibited in major museums around the world and his lectures on design are legendary. He has written eleven books on design and illustration, as well as many children’s books. Bob earned Lifetime Achievement Awards from both the London and New York Design and Art Directors’ Associations.
D&AD also came to film illustrators Margot Bowman & Serge Seidlitz in conversation with Bob. Have a look at the link to see more of Bob's visit here!
Dalston's favourite basement bar Ruby's, will be opening up a container in our avenue and serving cocktails inspired by the prints for the opening evening so come down to join us for a drink and to see the incredible new work.
The prints are in very small editions, £850.00 each.
