About

An exhibition showcasing the office of the future is to launch at Howick Place in Victoria, in collaboration with international design magazine Wallpaper*. The exhibition, at striking new office space Howick Place, rethinks the modern workplace - presenting a radical new vision of how and where we should spend our working lives. Launching for 10 days from 21st March, it is curated by Wallpaper?s editors, working with established and upcoming designers and award-winning architect Adam Khan.

Tony Chambers, Wallpaper* editor-in-chief comments, "The demarcations between work and home are increasingly blurred; we seem to want to domesticate the workplace and make our office environments more friendly and reflect personal tastes. Through this exhibition, we will show how personalised, cleverly domesticated workspaces can encourage creativity, motivation, loyalty and honest graft whilst simultaneously making a subtle but powerful statement about one's identity as a business."

The exhibition will open to the public on Saturday 23rd March, from 11am - 4pm* at Howick Place, a flagship development undertaken by Doughty Hanson and Terrace Hill within a sought-after enclave of Victoria. A key part of the district's £2 billion renaissance, this striking building will offer just over 143,000 sq ft of Grade A office space and 23 luxury residential apartments. Inspired by an area that has become a magnet for leading luxury and fashion brands, it is a stylish light-filled environment that has been designed to be good for business.

Julian Gabriel, Head of Real Estate at Doughty Hanson, comments, "Victoria is a dynamic place, with luxury names fast replacing the drab 60's office blocks it was once known for. Howick Place is looking toward the future and with this exciting exhibition we explore what this means for office spaces, particularly among the community of tenants it is already beginning to attract."

The exhibition will feature specially commissioned installations with the support of the American Hardwood Export Council and timber provided by Morgan Timber. Designer Adam Khan combined natural and heat-treated American tulipwood with light American maple flooring in his design to create a warm and rich working environment. Working closely with Kent?based sculptor and fabricator Adam Kershaw, Khan has created a striking timber composition defining, dividing and connecting various work zones.
