Adelheid Eichhorn — geometry and free form Graphic arts and painting

About

Tight straights and dynamic bended lines rotate about inner circles. The geometric forms: circle, and arc provided with axis which turn into, develop into parallel lines and triangles, define the picture. Totally inconsistent with Kandinsky who asserts in his theory that the Grey is toneless and inflexible, Eichhorn succeeded to create a deep and metallic vocal movement. In their base the etchings, painted in watercolours, aren´t unalike to the illustrations of the artist of the last editions of the poetry album 275 and 229. Against the background of the extremely classical training at the Academy of Visual arts (HGB) in Leipzig represented by Prof. Dr. Werner Tübke and Prof. Dr. Rolf Kuhrt, Adelheid Eichhorn has developed her very own virtuosic style for years. The etchings were produced at the renowned printing company Rösler in Hohenossig and getting through the platted soft points and colours by brush their individual gestural emotional expression. The delicate lines of the etching not only show the technical know-how of the artist, but also at the same time the starting point, sometimes inspiration and sometimes an antipole to the coloured forms. Eichhorn follows the movements of the sheets with swinging gestures which she inserts mostly in the primary colours yellow, blue and red. Sometimes the colours are tender and almost invisibly plotted, and sometimes they are tight settings, create rooms and references which are reminiscent of dynamic musical compositions. The 65 years old artist still sparkles with ideas and vitality and expresses this in her works. Adelheid Eichhorn remains true to herself and her style and still creates very lively, fresh and almost juvenile works. The expression is strong and the energy viewable. We recommend anyone who has not yet seen these works in original, to get an own picture of them. This is possible during the exhibition from the 19th of January through the Sunday, the 17th of March 2013. Kind regards, Sabine Aichele-Elsner Translated by Juliane Gummelt, January 2013
