About

Inspired by the recent news of rat meat on sale in Ridley Road Market, artist Benjamin Liebenhals and typographer Chris Mackenzie have teamed up to produce an impressive body of work including paintings, puppets and photographs. Exhibiting together for the first time, the pair have re-created their own butcher shop aesthetic, complete with market stall, butcher and rats, and provide a fresh and humorous take on such a dark and illegal business. Utilising their individual skills and collaborating on various pieces; a combination of hand rendered typography and illustration, a unity between the two artists work is achieved.
