Coventry Artists Return to Their Roots
Roots Gallery Presents:
'Roots' by Coventry School Foundation
11.2.13 - 8.3.13
With an opening night 11.2.13 (6pm-7.30pm)
Coventry School Foundation will exhibit collaboratively at Roots Gallery throughout February with new exhibition ‘Roots’, which celebrates the artistic successes of former pupils and highlight the aspiration and creativity within both schools.
The Art departments of Bablake and King Henry VIII Schools have a reputation as centres which offer vibrant and exciting educational experiences in a supportive environment. The schools have high expectations which pupils aspire to and often exceed. They have come together before to hold joint exhibitions and found them to be valuable and rewarding events, which enable them to celebrate pupils’ ability and creativity.
This new exhibition has provided a wonderful opportunity to showcase the work of current pupils, those at university and artists who are employed in our country’s thriving creative industries. Bringing together the work of painters, architects, photographers, craftspeople, animators and illustrators, it is hoped that this exhibition will demonstrate to the next generation of aspiring artists the career pathways and opportunities open to them, at a time when it is essential to highlight and support creative education in schools.
This exhibition has been organised in line with Roots Gallery’s Learning and Participation priorities.
‘Roots’ by Coventry School Foundation will open to the public on Monday 11 February 2013, with a formal opening party on Monday 11 February 2013 from 6pm-7.30pm.
The exhibition will then be open Tuesday - Friday 10am-5pm until Friday 8 March 2013.
