The Gourmand Exhibition is an intimate showcase of limited edition prints especially commissioned for issues 00 and 01 of the food, drink and contemporary art publication. Gustav Almestål’s photographs depicting the sensual pleasure of food show how mundane foodstuffs such as butter or cheese can suddenly take on a very sensual edge. Robin Friend’s remarkable shots of crocodiles feeding capture the movement, power and ferocity of the creature. Contrast this with Paolo di Lucente’s quiet yet exquisite Edward Hopper-esque photographs of New York diners which depict empty scenes bursting with stories to tell. Other works in the exhibition include witty observational drawings from Paul Davis and a culinary homage to design movements of the 20th century by Jamie Brown and Luke Kirwan.
Editions of all the artwork on display at the exhibition will be available for purchase.
