The RCA’s annual postcard art exhibition and fundraising sale will be located at the College’s Dyson building in Battersea for the first time. All postcards are made and donated by professional artists, designers and illustrators, plus up-and-coming students from the College’s Fine Art programmes. For one day only, the cards will be sold to the public in a huge sale, with every postcard costing just £45 each. The secret is that all postcards are displayed anonymously, so viewers don’t know the identity of the artist until they have made their purchase. In previous years, postcards have been donated by David Hockney, Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst, Sir Peter Blake and Grayson Perry. Potential collectors will be able to view all the postcards in person or on-line from 14 March. Proceeds from the sale goes to the Fine Art Student Award Fund, helping emerging artists at a formative stage in their careers.
