About

Mark Barnard studied Fine Art at Brighton. Since the late 70s he has been both a practicing artist, as a member of Park Studios, and also a teacher of art and design. Teaching at Holloway School and then moving to City and Islington Sixth Form College, Barnard uses his own work to inform his teaching. This mixed media exhibition explores a selection of works which draws a timeline from Barnard's earliest practice through a series of developments to his current style. Inspired by direct observation of the land and sea his studies, produced on location, are used as starting points for exploratory and expressionistic studio based work.
