Cedric Morris & Christopher Wood : A Forgotten Friendship

Christopher Wood arrived in Paris in 1921 to become one of England’s greatest painters. There he met many artists including a young Englishman named Cedric Morris.

Wood and Morris attended the same art schools in Paris, painted the same models and drank in the same Montparnasse bars. When they both moved to London their work was at the forefront of the avant-garde.

Both artists travelled to the same places in Cornwall and Brittany, and this exhibition shows a selection of their stunning and evocative landscapes alongside portraits of their mutual friends.

Cedric Morris & Christopher Wood: A Forgotten Friendship is a Mascalls Gallery touring exhibition, it can be seen at the following 3 venues:

Norwhich Castle Gallery 20 October - 31 December 2012
Mascalls Gallery 16 January - 13 April 2013
Falmouth Art Gallery 27 April - 22 June 2013
