Draughtsmanship dissected - the genius of Peter G. Cull
Peter Cull (1927-2012) was a consummate medical artist, visionary, intellectual, educator, mentor, colleague, humourist, friend and devoted family man.
In this celebration of Peter Cull’s life and work, reproductions of his inimitable paintings will be displayed. Cull created appealing renderings of accurately depicted anatomy, with a hint of the fantastic: vibrant, informative, relevant.
Peter Cull was medical artist to St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College from 1961 until his retirement in 1993. He was elected chairman of the Medical Artists’ Association of Great Britain three times and chairman of the Institute of Medical Illustrators twice. In 1991 he became the University of London’s professor of medical art, made Emeritus on his retirement.
