About

First shown in Whitechapel Gallery in 2011, artist Alan Kane curates a floor-to-ceiling display of forgotten pottery. The 1970s saw a resurgence in traditional wheel-thrown, glazed stone and slipware pottery. These frank, often rustic ceramics were a fashionable alternative to modernist design. Kane invites you to look and contribute to this unique collection by adding pieces of pottery that you find intriguing, unusual, strange, or un-loved. Rummage in the attic, search the back of kitchen cupboards, find once treasured, but now discarded and forgotten pots, bowls, mugs, goblets and vases. Oriel Myrddin Gallery will be including your unloved pots in the display — check our website for details. On loan from The British Council Collection
