Made in Mancunia #2

About

This is the second instalment of 'Made In Mancunia' at 2022NQ, which is a group exhibition featuring mixed-media works from four established local artists, who have enjoyed regional, national and international success. The exhibition includes illustration, painting and sculpture, showcasing their distinctive style as artists and bringing together their artistic talent under one roof. DJ Trafford Parsons, who previously exhibited at 2022NQ earlier this year with his solo show, 'Something Wicked This Way Comes', will be showcasing a range of work, that reflects his interest in British, iconic imagery, contemporary culture, and Gothic charm, fused with his unique sense of humour. Established designer and graphic illustrator Barney Ibbotson, has produced a prolific range of work throughout his career so far, ranging from fictional character designs to landscapes and more intricate works, displaying his versatility and innovativeness as a designer. He has achieved recognition internationally for his designs. Ibbotson has created a series of original works especially for this show, which have never been seen before. Manchester Metropolitan graduate, Dave Rankin works with acrylic on paper and takes inspiration from his everyday surroundings to create abstracted, psychedelic landscapes, whilst exploring colour and form. Mark O'Brien, embraces the humble material of cardboard in a fun and serious way, manipulating it to create one-off two and three dimensional art works, some of which are actual life-size sculptures of everyday objects, creations borne of his own imagination, or more humorous pieces and site-specific commissions.
