Art V Cancer by #Raid71

About

North-west based illustrator and graphic artist Chris Thornley, aka Raid#71, will launch the debut show of 'Art V Cancer' at 2022NQ, on Friday 2 November, with a public preview, from 6:00pm. 'Art V Cancer' is a group show, featuring a range of graphic artists and includes limited edition and one-off prints from over 35 national and international artists, including Stanley Chow, Si Scott, Raid71 & Sam Falconer, as well as celebrity contributions from Sir Patrick Stewart. The variety of works included are reminiscent of the art of sixties counter-culture and alternative press, with a vibrant, contemporary edge. 'Art V Cancer' was established by Thornley and his wife Julia Hall, after he was diagnosed with a rare form of non-hodgkin's lymphoma cancer at just thirty-seven years old. Since then, he has energetically embraced his condition and pro-actively set about using art as a tool to raise awareness of cancer and fundraise for several cancer charities in the UK. Featured works in this exhibition are for sale, from which a percentage of the proceeds raised will be split between the various cancer charities they support, raising money for CLIC Sargent and Manchester Royal Infirmary Charity's, CALLM fund. Thornley has enjoyed global success as an artist and his work has been featured in the New York Times and Washington Post. His talents have been recognised in the world of design, and earlier this year, he was awarded for his inspiring designs and illustrations, obtaining the 'Lancashire Award for Creativity' and the 'Adobe Creative Award' for character design, amongst several others.
