"Elegant Earth" featuring John Connolly & Louise Fairchild

“Elegant Earth” features two stunning new artists – John Connolly & Louise Fairchild. From the 18th October the gallery will be full to bursting with exciting & inspiring (& often large scale!) landscape paintings. Both artists have a keen interest in landscape painting and often take their inspiration from dramatic landscapes both preferring the vast sweeping horizons of the Derbyshire Peak district.
Louise’s passion is the emotive impact of light, especially early morning or last light on the land and she attempts to capture the exquisitely elusive, sublime luminosity of it. John’s passion also focuses on the ever changing light of this rugged terrain.
Louise and John are also drawn to water within the landscape with John loving the bleakest parts of Cornwall, Yorkshire and Derbyshire. This allows him to concentrate on the point on the horizon where the contrasts of colour, texture and the ever changing light over water enable him to create work with drama and emotion.
We are excited to host this dramatic exhibition in the gallery and look forward to introducing these fascinating & accomplished paintings to our clients.
