BORDERLINE/ Performance Festival
VENUES TBC- NORWICH
BORDERLINE/ is a new performance art event for the city of Norwich.
It takes place on the 25th of June 2013, across 3 different venues, and culminates with a free meal and informal get together for artists and audience alike.
BORDERLINE/ wishes to offer a platform to art work and creative practices which
in the words of Simon Critchley, '' have an element of risk and etremity and [...] cut to the heart of the self.''
'' There is a sense in which so much of what's produced in the artworld is contained and obsessionally ordered and polite, nothing is on the line, it's comfortable.[...] I d like to argue for an ethics of discomfort that would be immoral in terms of socially established ethics but deeply ethical in another way.''
(S. Critchley , 2010 )
The project's main aims are to promote challenging contemporary performance practice; to encourage the travel of artists and ideas and to offer a collaborative, more inclusive and accessible alternative to traditional art events.
The event wishes to involve as many creative individuals in its making. If you think you would like to help delivering the project, if you have a show you would like to include on the program or you would like to collaborate on a project, please get in touch.
BORDERLINE/ PERFORMANCE PLATFORM :
BORDERLINE/ will happily include in its program and promote any local ( or not ) artist with a show which fits the project's ethos and a venue to host them.
It will commit to support these shows in its best ability, offer peer to peer feedback and critique, and documentation of the event when requested.
