About

The first ever London based solo exhibition by photographer Carinthia West, 'Hanging Out' presents us with a fascinating cross-section of friendship, loyalty, celebrity and fame in the 1970's. West's informal and candid photographs feature subjects including Anjelica Huston, Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood, Helen Mirren, Neil Young, Carly Simon, James Taylor, Paul Simon, George Harrison, Eric Idle, Julie Christie, Robin Williams and Keith Moon. West will also be exhibiting photographs featuring the‘flying pig' which escaped over Battersea Power Station during the shoot for Pink Floyd's 1977 ‘Animals' album cover, in reference to the location of the exhibition, with The Library Space located just minutes from the power station. In addition to photography, West has worked as contributing editor for Marie Claire, Tatler, Harper's & Queen and Harper's Bazaar. She has written for the Telegraph, the Independent and the Mail on Sunday, but photography remains her first love and passion.
