Jerwood Drawing Prize Event - What is Drawing?

About

Paul Thomas and Professor Stephen Farthing RA in conversation. Professor Stephen Farthing RA is an artist and the Rootstein Hopkins Chair of Drawing at University of the Arts London. As part of his research Stephen Farthing has come up with a structure for defining drawing, which he refers to as the Taxonomy of Drawing. In this talk he will use a series of drawings to describe how he has built this taxonomy over the past seven years using different genera of drawing. Then with the help of artist Paul Thomas and the audience he will test out the taxonomy as a tool for discussing drawing. All events are FREE but booking for this event is essential.
