Scalped: New Works by Paul Emmanuel

About

Curated by Sarah Gillett Paul Emmanuel will be presented a series of new works that are observations and responses to life in the rural environment that underpins his current practice. Nantyffin has a strong farming community that responds, like all agricultural practices, to the land through a creative necessity. The resulting interventions carry an intrinsic aesthetic that is evidence of a complex and symbiotic relationship where people are both a part of the landscape while at the same time appear as outside. This exhibition relates to the on-going 'Farm Shop' project. Paul Emmanuel is a multi-media artist based in South Wales. Recent exhibitions include Erotographomania. CAST, Hobart, Australia, Fleece Painting. Oriel Myrddin, Carmarthen and The Autobiography of A Super-Tramp, g39, Cardiff. In 2011 he won Welsh Artist of the Year. He is a current reciepient of a Creative Wales Award from the Arts Council of Wales.
