About

Have a Collapse is a series of works by Sheffield-based artist Graham Hutchinson whose current practice comprises photographic collages on paper. In Have a Collapse, Hutchinson works with a vast inventory of eclectic images chosen from a collection of 1940s magazines, as well as newspapers and books to produce collages in which various characters interact with the empty space of each sheet of paper in order to probe the conventions of the works' medium. Graham Hutchinson studied at the University of Sunderland where he received his MA Fine Art in 2004. He is based at Bloc Studios in Sheffield. Recent exhibitions include gal.li.mau.fry (2012), Motorcade/FlashParade, Bristol; Inaugural Exhibition (2011), Innate Projects, West Bromwich; and Collages (2011), We Are Open, Middlesbrough.
