About
The White Room Gallery proudly presents a selection of paintings and limited edition prints by The Specials' Bassist, Horace Panter. Like many great bands, The Specials were formed while the founding members were at art school. The Coventry-based musicians went on to have huge success and have recently re-grouped for a World Tour which includes an appearance at the closing ceremony at the London Olympics.Throughout his successful musical career, the multi-talented Horace Panter continued to draw and paint in his spare time but has only recently taken the decision to show his work in public. While some of his work explores his interest in music, Horace is also intrigued by the use of icons in propaganda. These images question the original narrative by removing the subject and placing them in a post-modern setting.
This exhibition will open with a Private View from 2-4pm on Sunday 26th August with the artists in attendance, following this, guests are invited to join the gallery for an evening of music at 'Gascoyne Place' in the centre of Bath where Horace Panter will be playing with his blues band 'Blues 2 Go'.
