Four Corners
Celebrating Diversity in London
Thursday 4th October 2007 - Tuesday 13th November 2007 12.00PM- 4.00PM
An exhibition by people from the Four Corners of London, celebrating diversity in the city.
London is a vibrant city with many different cultures contributing to its success. Londoners are often very proud of the part of the city they call home, as well as having great pride in their cultural heritage from other parts of the world. Four Corners celebrates London's richness from the perspective of just some of its many different cultures.
This exhibition is the result of a collaboration between The National Portrait Gallery, community groups, and four arts organisations across the city, of which artsdepot was one. Participants drawn from the local area have worked alongside professional artists and workshop leaders to create their own original and thought provoking art. Displayed alongside the participants' work are photographic portraits of famous Londoners from the National Portrait Gallery's Collection.
