]performance s a l o n [ - Dani Ploeger & Jordan Wayne Long

About

This summer, performance artists Jordan Wayne Long and Dani Ploeger present their performance series Trauma & Vanity in venues in the Netherlands, France and the UK. In this salon they will ask each other questions about their bodies, fears, and fantasies. And they will show documentation and artefacts of previous work. Jordan Wayne Long is originally from Bald Knob, Arkansas, and is currently living in Boston. He was a zookeeper before he became an artist. His work deals with trauma. He has shipped himself across the United States while locked in a box, dragged himself behind a car, built a machine to cure his fear of heights and made a tower out of cardboard. Dani Ploeger grew up in the Dutch countryside and currently lives and works in London and Berlin. Heralded in the press as the ‘Jimi Hendrix of the sphincter', his performance installations engage with cheap consumer technologies and explore themes around the technologized body, sexuality and vanity. Dani and Jordan met in Boston in December 2011. They like each other and share a fascination with Rambo.
