Contemporary Art Medals
A unique exhibition of Art medals from leading British and International medallists. The exhibition is being opened by Philip Atwood, Keeper of Coins and Medals at The British Museum, and is curated by award winning British medallist Ron Dutton.
Medals have long been associated with Much Wenlock. The organisers of the Wenlock Olympian Games, which began in 1850, issued medals as prizes in a tradition that continues to this day.
Only three galleries in the UK, including the V&A, are exhibiting art medals this year. This is a rare opportunity to to experience the art of medals in an area with a unique Olympic connection.
